StatPatch
Continuous vital monitoring for the back of the truck.
The Problem
Every five minutes, an EMT has to stop caring for their patient.
My co-founder Cal is a working paramedic. He noticed that manually recording patient vitals every few minutes pulls attention away from actually caring for the patient. In a moving ambulance, that tradeoff costs time. Sometimes more than that. StatPatch is designed to eliminate it.
What We're Building
A disposable wearable patch applied at the scene. It transmits continuous vital data wirelessly to the onboard computer, keeping the EMT's hands free. No setup menus. No cables. One patch per call.
SpO₂
Continuous pulse oximetry throughout transport.
Heart Rate
PPG-based monitoring, continuous not interval-based.
Skin Temp
Continuous skin temperature trending across the full transport.
Resp. Rate
Passive monitoring throughout transport, no patient cooperation required.
The Workflow
Apply
Patch placed on chest at scene or during loading.
Connect
Bluetooth pairs automatically with onboard computer.
Monitor
Live vitals visible on onboard CAD/computer.
Document
Data available for ePCR integration.
Reset
Patch discarded, unit ready for next call.
My Contribution
I'm building everything technical.
I'm the software and electrical engineering lead. I designed and built the StatPatch marketing website from scratch in SvelteKit and Tailwind CSS, targeting EMS distributors and investors. The design references Axon and Samsara: serious ops-tech companies, not generic SaaS. I'm also leading all PCB and firmware development as we move from research into hardware.

The Team
Cal MacClary
Founder & CEO
Working paramedic. Identified the problem firsthand.
Teddy Kim
Co-Founder, Software & EE
Building the site, the firmware, and the PCB.
Arjun
Co-Founder, Mechanical Engineering
Designing the physical enclosure and patch form factor.
StatPatch is in active research. We're talking to EMTs and paramedics before we build.
